Fairtrade

St Mary's has been a Fairtrade church since 2006. To do this, it has signed up to the 3 Fairtrade principles.

As a result of 50% of the parishes within Southwark Diocese signing up to become Fairtrade Parishes, Southwark Diocese became a Fairtrade Diocese during Fairtrade week 2008.

We hold a Fairtrade stall once a month after the Sunday morning service for the congregation to purchase a range of Fairtrade products and also highlight new products on our environmental notice board.

Fairtrade wine and juices are often used at social events organised by the church.

We use Fairtrade resources to help us raise awareness in planning services, work with young people and to highlight issues through articles in our monthly church magazine.
