St Mary's Church welcomes all members of our local community. The 900 year old church is visited by many during the year, either to attend regular services, to witness baptisms and marriages, on arranged visits by local schools, clubs or societies or attend our regular open sessions on Sunday afternoons during the summer to experience the beauty of this ancient place of worship, the oldest public building in Croydon still in regular use.
Our community hall is used by a range of local groups as a venue for all activities from uniformed organisations (rainbows, brownies and guides), a local playgroup, monthly luncheon club, Sunday school and church youth group, line dancing club, bagpipe group and many parties and celebrations.
In November each year, we open our church hall on a Tuesday evening as part of the Croydon Churches floating shelter to offer food, companionship and a warm place to sleep for members of our community who are homeless.
We need to upgrade our current hall facilities and are currently consulting to identify the type of facilities that would most benefit the people of Addington. Select this link for further information about our plans and details of how to respond to our consultation.
There are always opportunities to volunteer to support the work of the church and community groups. Follow the links on the left for further information about volunteering, how we promote the Fairtrade principles here at St Mary's, the charities we support and our work to protect the environment.
